MONTEBRUNO

Although Joe Pedicini calls Brooklyn, New York his home, he grew up in New Jersey, and was raised in a home surrounded by a lively and extended Italian family. Surrounded by wine at a young age, Joe has fond memories of assisting his father and grandfather when they would produce their own wine each year. His background is rich with old world winemaking traditions handed down from family and friends -  therefore it's no wonder he would begin producing wine under his own label in the future.

Joe eventually studied Oenology professionally and put his knowledge and experience to effort by working in both the retail and production areas of the wine business. In the 1990's, he embarked on a quest to travel west to Oregon and landed a position brewing beer. Eventually, he returned to the East Coast, where he enrolled in the WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) Program and earned his diploma. During his WSET studies, he worked with two highly respected auction companies: Morrell and Sotheby's where he sold some of the most prestigious wines in the world.

In 2003, Joe founded Montebruno Wines, with a vision to produce Pinot Noir and Gewurztraminer with Old World characteristics, blended with the unique New World terroir in the Willamette Valley. He sources fruit from small and select vineyards that are certified sustainable and works closely with his growers to ensure only the highest quality of fruit is grown. When Joe's not making his wine in Oregon, he's at home in New York where he focuses on hand selling Montebruno to some of the finest restaurants and retail wine shops in the area.
