The Carlton Winemakers Studio
EILA
EILA Wines is a small Oregon winery focused on making distinctive, high-quality wines that reflect the character of the Willamette Valley.
Founded in 2021 by vintner Peter Sturn, EILA is guided by a commitment to thoughtful farming and low-intervention winemaking—producing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that are fresh, balanced, and true to their vineyard origins.
Peter’s thoughtful winemaking approach is rooted in gentle methods: ambient yeast fermentations, varying levels of whole cluster inclusion, and restrained extraction. Harvest decisions are guided by a desire to preserve natural acidity and freshness while capturing phenolic ripeness and balance. Each wine is vinified in small batches and aged in a mix of new and neutral French oak, allowing the distinct voices of the vineyard sites to shine through.
EILA’s inaugural 2021 vintage featured Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the Le Cadeau Vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains AVA. In 2022, Peter expanded to include fruit from Johan Vineyard as well—further exploring cooler, higher-elevation sites ideal for crafting refined, terroir-driven Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
With limited production and an unwavering commitment to quality, EILA Wines invites curious palates and lovers of Oregon wine to discover something quietly extraordinary. Guests can taste through his latest releases at The Carlton Winemakers Studio—a fitting setting for a project rooted in care and craftsmanship.
