Shop Lazy River Vineyard

Ned Lumpkin’s love for wine started in Germany with the Riesling grape and culminated in 2000 when he found a large, undeveloped hillside outside of the town of Yamhill. While excavating the future vineyard, he discovered that the soil was nearly identical to the volcanic Jory more traditionally found in the Dundee Hills. He planted Lazy River Vineyard to Pinot noir, Pinot gris, Chardonnay, and of course, his original love — Riesling. Along with Eric Hamacher and Luisa Ponzi, Ned and his wife Kirsten were the original Founders of the Carlton Winemakers Studio.
